Women livelihood development project in Samangan province in Afghanistan

ECW is implementing the “Women Livelihood development project (WLDP) in Samangan Province. The main purpose of this project is; A) To develop the livelihoods of women household through dairy framing, Kitchen Gardening and Food Security Essential Trainings, B) to generate medicinal and aromatic plants sustainable incomes for the women farmers. In order to achieve this goal; ECW conducted an exhibition in Balkh Province. The exhibition of is started with recitation of Holy Quran with participation of from deputy of Balkh governor, Senior advisor of ministry DAIL, head of Balkh DAIL, deputy of DoE, deputy of DoWA, gender of manager of Samangan government, deputy of Samangan DoWA, INGO, CSOs of Balkh and beneficiaries of KG, DF and MAPs. Mohammad Bashir Tawhidi deputy of Balkh governor welcomed the beneficiaries of Samangan and thanked form ECW and WHH team for their initiative and launching the exhibition. He mentioned it is our pleasure to host such important and comprehensive opportunity which paved the ground for exhibiting the production, changing experience among market women of Balkh visitor, protecting internal production and important issue which is developing income generation of women. He also pointed that Mazar-e-Sharif always welcome such activity and initiative for any province especially the activity which the centrality are women which is needed and deserved to protect them and giving them more chances. At the he thanked from organizers of exhibition and recommended to expand such activity for Mazar-e-sharif that is needed to create internal market in order to protect and promote internal production. Mohammad Salim Sayee head of Balkh DAIL appreciated and welcomed ECW and WHH team in Mazar-e- sharif for launching exhibition. He pointed internal production is unique opportunity for supporting income generation and increasing employment and jobs and beside it can protect utilization of internal production. Such activity encourages women to work for their family and community. He mentioned that Balkh DAIL welcome any project and ready for any kind of cooperation and coordination for supporting internal production. He asked from ECW and WcHH to expand such project in order to provide opportunities for women of Balkh and community. At the end the exhibition is inaugurated by senior advisor of MAIL Mr. Noor Akbar, Deputy of Balkh governor, head of Balkh DAIL, deputy of DoE, DoWA, INGO and CSOs. Fortunately, all the production of KG and DF and 30 % of MAPs production purchased by visitors.
