Local Right Program (LRP) project in Balkh province

Empowerment Center for Women (ECW) is implementing the Local Right Program (LRP) project in Balkh province in Afghanistan with four strategic goals, Empowerment of women and girls to leading them in breaking the cycle of poverty and violence and gain control over economic resources and livelihood options to live a life with dignity. Our team of on-site professionals have completed the theoretical vocational training sessions for 60 livelihood right holders in the four primary aspects; Ash-making, Shall-weaving, poultry and soap-making trades.

We purchased and procured raw materials and toolkits for all the 60 beneficiaries and these materials and toolkits have been distributed to them for enhancing their practices.

The livelihood programs proceed quite smoothly and beneficiaries participate in the trainings with a very keen interest and believing that they have learnt these trades and need to translate their theoretical knowledge into practice.

Action-Aid has financially supported this project.
