Women livelihood development project in Samangan province in Afghanistan

ECW is implementing the “Women Livelihood development project (WLDP) in Samangan Province. The main purpose of this project is; A) To develop the livelihoods of women household through dairy framing, Kitchen Gardening and Food Security Essential Trainings, B) to generate medicinal and aromatic plants sustainable incomes for the women farmers. In order to achieve this goal; ECW conducted an exhibition in Balkh Province. The exhibition of is started with recitation of Holy Quran with participation of from deputy of Balkh governor, Senior advisor of ministry DAIL, head of Balkh DAIL, deputy of DoE, deputy of DoWA, gender of manager of Samangan government, deputy of Samangan DoWA, INGO, CSOs of Balkh and beneficiaries of KG, DF and MAPs. Local Right Program (LRP) project in Balkh province

Empowerment Center for Women (ECW) is implementing the Local Right Program (LRP) project in Balkh province in Afghanistan with four strategic goals, Empowerment of women and girls to leading them in breaking the cycle of poverty and violence and gain control over economic resources and livelihood options to live a life with dignity. Our team of on-site professionals have completed the theoretical vocational training sessions for 60 livelihood right holders in the four primary aspects; Ash-making, Shall-weaving, poultry and soap-making trades. We purchased and procured raw materials and toolkits for all the 60 beneficiaries and these materials and toolkits have been distributed to them for enhancing their practices. The livelihood programs proceed quite smoothly and beneficiaries participate in the trainings with a very keen interest and believing that they have learnt these trades and need to translate their theoretical knowledge into practice. Supporting Women’s Rights in Nangarhar Province

ECW is implementing the “Supporting Women’s Rights in Afghanistan” project in Nangarhar province. The main purpose of this project is to support raising awareness about women’s rights and reduce violation against women. For this purpose, ECW conducted a training workshop for 20 people (1 Female 19 Male) participants from 17-19 of March 2019. The main topics of the training were effective and gender-sensitive provision of legal support and protection of women and girls, the training was conducted in Behsud district of Nangarhar province.The participants of the training were from, DHQ Gender department and Prosecution departments and concern departments of Behsud district. This project has been financially supported by OXFAM.

Strengthened Access to Justice for Women Affected by Violence through Proven Culturally Sensitive Approaches

ECW is implementing the “Strengthened Access to Justice for Women Affected by Violence through Proven Culturally Sensitive Approaches, Phase 2” project in Kunduz province with the main purpose to increase women’s rights awareness and the sustainable protection and empowerment of women by strengthening citizens’ commitment to violence-free environment for women and girls. In order to achieve goal; on 25th of Feb 2019 ECW conducted the CDG meeting in Qali Ulia of Ali Abad District of Kunduz with presence of 10 members of the group.
